A press meet was organized at Gandhi Peace Foundation on February 1, 2019. The purpose of the press meet was to highlight existing incidences of child labour in glass and bangle industry in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh in larger public domain including society and government. Twelve child labour were also present during the press meet. 

Suggestions for elimination of child labour and safeguarding and protection of child rights were given in the presence of media functionaries:

• Opening of bridge school for ensuring learning and education of freed child labour
• MGNREGS should be made available for all 365 days and urban areas should be also covered under it. Wages should be defined as per minimum wages
• Effective and transparent implementation of Food Security Act for ensuring access over ration among eligible poor and marginalized families

Free vocational training to child labour above 15 years. There should be provision for interest free loan amount of Rs 2,00,000 as capital for the period of 10 years through SHGs for starting of micro business/income generating activities for trained candidates
